SciWeave is an AI-powered research assistant that delivers fast, reliable answers to any science or health-related question - grounded in peer-reviewed research. It scans trusted databases like OpenAlex to find the most relevant studies, summarizes key findings, and links directly to the original sources. Whether you're a student, researcher, professional, or simply curious, SciWeave makes scientific knowledge instantly accessible.

How does SciWeave work?

SciWeave converts your question into a semantic embedding to search a database of 250M+ academic articles. Results are ranked by relevance, citation count, and journal quality. An LLM then synthesizes a comprehensive answer with inline citations to the source papers.

What are the benefits of using SciWeave?

There are many benefits to using SciWeave. It allows you to instantly find reliable academic sources and provides AI-generated summaries of key papers, helping you save valuable time during literature reviews. SciWeave also surfaces follow up questions and related research. You don’t need to know exact keywords or citation formats, just ask your question in plain language, and SciWeave will do the rest. How do I find sources on SciWeave?

Simply type your research question or topic into the search bar. SciWeave will return a summary containing references and direct links to the publications.

How do I know if a source is credible?

SciWeave is based on the OpenAlex data of 250m scholarly works. It prioritizes articles from reputable journals. Each references includes a direct link to the publication, as well as title, authors, journal name, publication date, abstract, DOI, and citation count. Novelty scores asses how surprising a paper’s combination of topics and references are. You can also look up the profiles of the authors of the references articles, see where they work, and what else they have published.

Does SciWeave support multiple languages besides English?

SciWeave understands and responds in the language you use when asking a question. This gives everyone access to the entire academic literature, no matter what native language you speak.

Can I use SciWeave for free?

Yes, SciWeave offers a 7-day free trial / 10 chats (whichever comes first), followed by 1 chat per day at no cost. This gives you plenty of access to start exploring academic sources and AI-powered summaries without needing to upgrade.

Does SciWeave train AI models with your data?

No. We do not use your queries, uploaded content, or interaction history to train AI models. Your data is processed securely and used only to generate responses in real time.
